THE GLOBAL INNOVATION CHALLENGE
The purpose of the challenge is to crowdsource and select grounded business innovations from innovators and entrepreneurs within the ecosystem by arranging a structured innovation challenge. It will provide a platform for a wide range of innovators where they can bring in new ideas and communicate and pitch those ideas to the suppliers and test and prototype it together.
BRAC believes that one of the most viable pathways to mainstreaming innovations within industries and communities is developing proof-of-concepts of some business innovations through running an innovation challenge. The challenge invites innovators from around the world to submit their ideas to safeguard the jobs of women in the RMG industry of Bangladesh and increase the competitiveness of factories. Entrepreneurs can submit ideas matching one of five thematic areas – Automation and Efficiency; Sustainability and Circular Fashion; Product Design, Diversification, and Raw Material; Skill Development and Women’s Career; and, Enabling Environment. A fund worth $180,000 will be distributed among six winners for pilot implementation. In addition to the grant money, the winning ideas will also receive incubation support.
